I was artistic in my elementary school years. In fact, I was the only kid 2 years in a row in 5th & 6th grade that was the only student from the Brentwood School District to attend special classes at the St. Louis Art Museum.
We moved to a low income area in my early teens, and I had some teenage struggles that I had to endure to survive. There was a lot of abuse and disfunction in my life that I was meant to go through. Most of the troublesome kids around me were either getting incarcerated or killed. I lost art when I was being shuffled from juvenile, groups homes, and the likes. I am thankful to have lived in a time in St. Louis around so many demographics that provided me a great skill of communication and understanding the different layers of society from the rich neighborhoods to the hood, and everything in between.
In 1995, I was talking with my late brother Danny at a small family Thanksgiving gathering when it hit me out of the blue — I used to do art.
I worked on my style with pencils, chalk & oil pastels until 1999. That Christmas, I was gifted my first set of paints. I started with acrylic for the first year or so working on my style then graduated to oil. I have sold and donated many paintings, so many I lost count many years ago. My creations come straight from my heart that drip into my works.

In 2001 I had my first art gallery showing with a photographer, Connie LaFlam, and an Art Group called the Artist Gild. It was at her art space she leased off Washington Street, in a warehouse downtown St. Louis. That’s where I met a fellow artist named Zeek Estep. Zeek was an amazing mentor and an artist who influenced my early development. Zeek suddenly passed and I felt I must cut the umbilical cord to venture out from St. Louis and moved to Houston in 2006.

There is no limit to what I will attempt to learn, create and experience. I strive to leave a positive mark that may last when I am long gone as matter in the universe. My life long passions include art, acting, martial arts, oil painting, photography, and modeling.
